40M - I first played D&D at university with 3.5 I really started playing regularly with an online group during lockdown playing v5 and have played a weekly game reasonably consistently since then. mostly playing 5th edition D&D but also dabling in a couple of other systems [eg Kids on Bikes] and am interested in other systems [have Daggerheart and Roll Steel comming soon] Like story driven play, not particulary into dungeon crawlers. I'm a mid-50s tech and gaming geek with a hankering to get back into TTRPGs after a long break. In my teens and 20s I was heavily into Traveller, Call of Cthulhu, RuneQuest, MERP/RoleMaster, V:tM, and oneshots/pickup games of anything else that looked fun. Not so much D&D as I find level-based systems a bit constraining, but I've played my fair share as well as most of the D20-derived CRPGs at some point. I also used to referee CoC, though more in a weird-fiction style than as straight-up horror. Then I moved to London, got married, and had children to care for. Lack of an RPG group meant I mostly focused on the painting side of WH40K and Necrumunda, a bit of RP in BattleMaster (an web-based grand strategy/politics game), and building an excessive collection of TTRPGs in PDF form... Circumstances have recently changed and I'm back in my home town, looking for a friendly local gaming group where I can scratch the itch for fun and adventure with a handful of polygonal dice. I'm also open to giving VTTs a go, but I'm really hoping to make some new offline friends who might have other overlapping interests (music, computers, etc.)
