Elderly, easy going, always wanting to learn new things, play games on PC i.e. AOE 1,2,3,4 Would like to learn DnD but no I dea how to play (complete newbie). Love to join clubs and meet new people and make new friends.

I am a mature person in my autumn/winter years of life (68yrs old) and have wanted to learn to play DnD for many years now. When my wife was alive we always had an active social life with friends, but when my wife passed all our friends just closed their doors on me. I am now trying to meet and make new friends, but alas our local council has closed all social clubs down and there is nothing in Thurrock for over 20's, unless you count the pubs; and I'm not really a drinker. At first I thought DnD was for kids but having watched a documentary on tv, American doctors have found that getting elderly people into such clubs as DnD it has helped people aged between 40 - 80 get some memories back. I can't find anything for in age group in Thurrock, and though I can drive and have a vehicle I'm prepared to travel short distance to join clubs. If there are any DnD clubs near Thurrock or Basildon, and willing to take on newbies (never played the game before), I'd love to join, please bear in mind my age, I don't mind people younger than myself, but I don't want to be the eldest by about 30 years. If there are such clubs, within reason, I don't mind paying a subscription; just want to have some fun and laughs before my time is up.
