Hillsboro/Beaverton Dungeons & Dragons for Newbies (5th ed)

O Tanna2215 others This group is for both novice and veteran Dungeons and Dragons players, but particularly those who are new to the 5th edition. Experienced D&D players are strongly urged to become Dungeon Masters, since this group is focused on helping those just starting out. Our goal is to form an entryway to a world of D&D bliss. Upcoming events will feature workshops whereby new DMs can gain the confidence they need to run their own games. Every week, we will have a one-hour session with a different individual playing as the DM; here they have the chance to practice managing NPCs, keeping track of damage & AC, and so on, while also receiving advice from friendly and supportive DMs. Additionally, it provides a unique opportunity to try out different classes and develop more characters for use. As it is not a free gathering, we have a sliding fee system depending on the DM of the week, with Dungeons Masters paying $10 through paypal and others covering fees through feedback. This ensures it is economical and no one needs to go through uncomfortable conversations about payment. Additionally, the games will take place both on Zoom and Roll20 and the details will be given beforehand. Finally, please RSVP as early as possible as the event might be canceled if there are no signups two days before.

Tomb of Annihilation & Craft Beer Meetup

This meetup is intended to provide a enjoyable atmosphere where you can come and have a beer while playing a relaxed game of Dungeons and Dragons or Tomb of Annihilation. Previous game knowledge is a great asset, but not necessary. We have a Dungeon Master to lead the game, which is either the tabletop version of Dungeons and Dragons (usually on the second Saturday of the month) or the board game version of Tomb of Annihilation (second Sunday of the month). At least two people are required to play. Members are also encouraged to start up their own games while at the bar. If you would like to arrange a game, let us know and we'll add it to the events page. For past events, take a look at our page for more info.

We will start with a meeting to go over the rules and make characters, then explore exciting places, meet different kinds of NPCs, and battle fierce monsters. The adventure can take the characters from level 1 up to 8, depending on what extra materials we choose to include; how many sessions we play and how long they last (three hours each) will be decided as a group. The group has had twenty-one past events, and we will meet weekly!

Dungeons and Dragons for Newbies

The Meetup was established in 2017 and created to introduce all levels of players to the 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons. From character workshops to newbie-friendly campaigns, one-shot adventures, and DM sessions, each game motivates players to embrace the 'newbie' mindset. We honor the pleasure of discovering something new and make sure everyone feels secure while playing. During play, you can express discomfort with directions game is headed and safety tools such as hard lines are put in place. To meet the Dungeon Master early, he'll be at the venue ahead of time. Games are $20 and payable upon the meetup. There are capped RSVP slots and a waitlist if needed.
